There is great potential here for expanding the conversation, coordinating support for on-the-ground efforts, collaboration between sites, brainstorming, connecting, framing. You name it.
I've been active with a number of projects, including Studio Occupy (www.StudioOccupy.org). What you have co-initiated here is very good. I look forward to spend more time engaged in generative conversation, probably after the 16th.
There's a working group forming around Studio Occupy and potentially also an emerging broadcast network. This needs a couple more weeks of incubation and I personally need a couple weeks to clear my plate. (Alas, Monday mornings are particularly difficult for me to attend the cafe calls!)
On a personal level, I've just joined the board of the Compassionate Action Network, and whenever possible I'm inviting compassion into the heart of the Occupy conversation. It seems to me that the desire to co-create a compassionate society is a through line for the various aspects of the movement, and this could suggest one way of responding to the questions about what OWS is for.
I'll email you two articles that I've written for Napa Valley Life Magazine on the Happiness Initiative and Compassionate Communities. These might be helpful conversation starters.
Lastly for now, here's an appreciative question that I've posed on Occupy4Love:
If the Eurozone experiment, among others, teaches us that money is not the basis for unity, then what is? What would you say is the basis for unity and how might we build "a more perfect union" upon that foundation?

Thanks, Gary!

Thanks for all you do!

I deleted it because it was grumpy and I had hesitated to post it in the first place.
