OCCUPY TRUTH: Maine East West Highway/ Utlity Corridor. Come Camp In Sing For Thriveability July 14

Maine, I have discovered, since following our own wisdom here at Occupy Cafe and "taking it back home to the dining room table", is a banana republic firmly on the grip of corporate influence ..for decades..It is being played out now in classic political corruption style over an East West Corridor likely to be the back door of the tar sands pipeline.  In power politics, Robert Moses style, this project was facilitated by secret highway privatization legislation passed in 2010 with no public notice and no public comment.   Speculative investors in one of Americas last great wilderness areas, a watershed so vast it is to north american what the amazon is to south america, stand to gain over a $1billion in leasing fees for the highway itself and untold more from the use of the utility corridor for among other uses, the tar sands pipeline and an LPG pipeline to feed the gas fracking fields in Quebec and New Brunswick.

I ask all of Occupy to come and be with the people  of Maine in standing against this corruption and secrecy..standing for local thriveable community and one of th most important watersheds in north america.  Bring your fishing poles, your tents ,  bring your music, bring your hearts and minds to stand with these Maine people trying to protect their thriveable local economy.   As Erin said at the beginning "Hablamos de al communalidad"

For many links and more information about the highway see the East West Highway page at Defending Waters For Life, the little engine that can that has kept Nestle from exploiting Maine's waters through  rights  based legislation ( Defending Waters For Life is an affiliate of the Community Law Foundation)

Occupy A Thriveable Economy by standing with Mainers who have one and are trying to protect it and grow it. Please come.  We need you.  Let's make this the Woodstock of the 21st Century..a massive rally calling for a thriveable today and a thriveable tomorrow.

Please come and show your solidarity with everything we have talked about here at Occupy Cafe.

Happy to report that the ideas of taking it back home we discussed here together have worked in halting the East West Highway ad scaring the pols who have carried this forward and are now afraid of that at the polls.

The other really powerful "proof of the pudding" on the urgency of speaking beyond party ideology and meme is given in this East West Highway issue as well.  Those who have worked to find and speak the truth are from the far right and also the far left and everywhere in between with a handful of anarchist earth firsters thrown into the mix..but all working collaboratively, co-intelligently to find and speak the truth

It has deeply reaffirmed my faith in the common wisdom and in co-intelligece.

"Happy Birthday Occupy Wall Street ... thoughts on Year One"

Fifteen years ago, I ran across a book, "100 Most Influential People in History," during one of my dalliances to my local Marin County bookstore. "Influential People" was one man's assessment on exactly that. But how he determined his rankings was the interesting part. They weren't always the reasons you would think. But after thinking about it, they made complete sense. For example:George Washington was ranked in the top 40 of all time. Understandable. But the reason why ... not so much. You…See More
