Dear "Occupy Your Neighborhood" Friends:

Hope this finds you all in fine fettle!

I thought about this group as soon as we got inspired during our design conversation for yesterday's "Occupy a New Story" Cafe Call with Jeff Vander Clute and Duane Elgin to invite participants to bring the conversation out into the face-to-face world.  I know that everyone here has been intrigued by this idea at various times, and in various contexts.  Are any of you interested in playing with us here and now in the Cafe as we look to spread the idea of New Stories?

There's a template for the conversation at the link above, which mirrors the one we had together on the call yesterday.  We think it's an interesting one to have both with people you feel aligned with as well as those you don't.  Hopefully something juicy emerges that you also want to share back to the forum.

If this topic or approach doesn't grab you you, are there other ideas you might offer to help galvanize in-person dialogue that can weave together with our virtual conversation modes?  Our core team (now seven strong) is very well aligned around the idea of developing this for the Cafe.

Cheers,
Ben

"Happy Birthday Occupy Wall Street ... thoughts on Year One"

Fifteen years ago, I ran across a book, "100 Most Influential People in History," during one of my dalliances to my local Marin County bookstore. "Influential People" was one man's assessment on exactly that. But how he determined his rankings was the interesting part. They weren't always the reasons you would think. But after thinking about it, they made complete sense. For example:George Washington was ranked in the top 40 of all time. Understandable. But the reason why ... not so much. You…See More
