Cafes are hospitable spaces,hosting a very wide range of conversation and connection; places where people can meet friends as well as random strangers.  And while we might think of them as a setting mainly for casual talk, history tells us that some very momentous ideas were hatched in such cozy environs.  They are also full of life energy and are builders of social fabric. The cafe is a metaphor that we hope to live into with this conversation space.

Occupy Cafe is particularly inspired by the good folks of The World Cafe community, who hold to a vision of "the world as Cafe."  We hope that our efforts make some modest contribution toward the realization of that dream.
