We need to take a page out of Grover Norquist's book. He has managed to take over the entire Congressional process, getting the majority of the House and many members of the Senate to sign a pledge promising to never raise taxes. Politicians that don't sign it face the prospect of losing re-election. I think we've got to make a similar pledge statement and ask our Congressmen and future candidates that run to sign it. It would go something like this.
I [Name] pledge to end corporate personhood, get money out of politics, and will no longer accept contributions from corporations, lobbyists, and special interest groups.
You are free to amend the pledge. Let's agree on the wording and send it out to everyone involved in the political process today.

That's the hallmark for 2012 elections..only support candidates who sign the pledge..keep a public list o who signs..everyone peitition their own existing officials to sign..everyone require any candidiate for office to sign.
brilliant
we can do this
Mr. Blue,
I liked your first pledge better
I have long supported and written about a constitutional amendment on the corporate personhood issue but did you see my recent post on this? I saw a cite that claimed corporate personhood is in Blackstone ( common law) . If that is so, I don't think our constitution could go against Blackstone. I believe that is why Schumer & others have a campaign finance bill going. Certainly that is a shorter route.
I haven't seen anything yet though that looks at the relationship between the 28th amendment now floating around and the corporate personhood reference in Blackstone..It was my understanding that many constitutional scholars were involved in the creation of the 28th amendment now floating around..so I am a little confused on this point.
In any event, a more broadly stated pledge might be wiser.
Lindsay
