An open space for global conversation
Many people on Twitter are honoring the dead in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Libya, Haiti, Guatemala, the DRCongo, and all the other places where US military troops have killed millions of innocent people in order to further private corporate business interests.
I think it may be a mistake to honor our military dead as such, because it can lead youngsters to think that killing innocent people so that corporations can steal their resources is an honorable calling. We already have more troops dying of suicide than of combat because they came to that realization too late. They were victims too, and should be honored, but as victims, not as the glorious conquerors, protectors, or liberators they never were.
Regular Calls are no longer being held. Below is the schedule that was maintained from the Fall of 2011 through Jan 10, 2013.
