An open space for global conversation
As I understand it, the key challenge for each of us (and all of us) who identify with Occupy is: Choosing to live our lives in ways that serve both ME and WE. Too many people focus only on serving their self-interest (ME) and they ignore the common-interest (WE). That choice does not mean ignoring one's own self-interest, rather it means expanding our view from self to self-and-community (both ME and WE), the 1% are focussed only on serving their self-interest and we (the 99%) are focussed on serving both self-and-community. And for us "community" encompasses all life on Earth (not just the United States).

Bill, I like what you have to say, but I put that slogan you borrowed aside a few years ago because it succeeded in distinct pockets and failed in the big world of varied and churning perspectives and positions.
Human scale is not global. Global is abstract, fossil-fueled and militaristic.
It's fine to love the whole earth and all of humanity, but a human being's best thinking and best action have local flavor and focus. Exhibits A - D: Building live soils, growing nutrient dense foods, giving hugs and making art.
