Designing the Future of the Earth Co-operatively.

Information

Designing the Future of the Earth Co-operatively.

Dealing with problems will stay with us forever, but it will be much easier to do once we start resolving problems--all the differences, controversies, conflicts, and complaints that there ever are amongst us--by starting unifying and harmonizing all of our ideas about what the ideal world should be like by what-so-ever expedient means available to us.

Everyone would have a chance to input their ideas about what the world should look like.

These ideas would be vetted against all that we know about the Earth and societal processes--an ongoing learning.

Some notions about how it could happen are expressed at www.ModelEarth.Org

This discussion starter and some of what follows it are pertinent to what I've submitted in this group's space.

"improve the planet's future"

It was a slip to use planet in that way.  I meant world, as in "make the world a better place."

Perhaps because I don't believe there will much longer be energy for global projects, I tend to think of simultaneous, parallel efforts in bioregions that, in sum, give humans a future and improve the planet's future.  It seems to me that such focus and participation is the most fair way to ensure that "everyone would have a chance to input their ideas about what the world should look like."

Soon I'll look around the site you recommended.

If you are Creator and judge of fitness-to-participate, how will co-operation develop and thrive?

Hearthstone replies:

I have a bad experience from other discussion groups--too many "members" joining with the help of bots and subsequently starting spamming.

"Happy Birthday Occupy Wall Street ... thoughts on Year One"

Fifteen years ago, I ran across a book, "100 Most Influential People in History," during one of my dalliances to my local Marin County bookstore. "Influential People" was one man's assessment on exactly that. But how he determined his rankings was the interesting part. They weren't always the reasons you would think. But after thinking about it, they made complete sense. For example:George Washington was ranked in the top 40 of all time. Understandable. But the reason why ... not so much. You…See More
