David, the vid was put together on a shoe-string, so I'd lean more on the words.

In the book I discuss resource-based economics and Lester Brown's Plan B which features the same sort of thinking - corporations must pay for what they harvest and the impact of such harvesting. On a larger scale, I discuss the need to migrate from our current extractive culture to a generative one. The Venus Project I site in the  book as an example of the farther reaches of what we might explore once we get beyond war and other distractions to wholesome and holistic life on Earth.

Funny about your Fourth Phase, I've seen now three through six, if you count the Mayan idea of us entering the Sixth World at the end of this calendar year [and 13,000 year cycle]. In my case I stumbled on the term first, and then saw how we could consider civilization from the o/s perspective. More remarkable to me is how each Age is enabled by new technology. Agrarian through implements, Medieval through machines, Industrial via engines and World 5.0 based on the Internet.

I like a lot of what's said in words in the video, some of what's shown.  I see some contradictions in its words and images.

Please make explicit this initiative's relationship to The Venus Project and resource-based economics advocates.

BTW, In 11/09 I wrote about the coming fourth phase (fusing two of yours) of humanity.

Hi Ben. Yes, I'm the founder and author of the book on the topic. Shoot me an email address and I'll send you a PDF of the book. Your question is one I've wondered about as well. All these diverse people and efforts. I would have to say that I imagine World 5.0 to be an umbrella big enough for all our diverse efforts. It not only orients us with Life, but appreciates the value of our intent in making us happy and of course, intends a new cultural operating system based on principles like peace and love instead of the old corrupt system based on the power of money.

Glad this meme is starting to get out there a bit. I've been taken with the idea of World 5.0 since stumbling upon it while walking my dog seven years ago. With a few friends we had an event in Cincinnati on the Equinox 9/23 for the book release and official launch. As it turns out, this was six days after the initial OWS event.

Finally, the more we appreciate our sharing of Life in this moment, the totality of right now and our human family, the more we migrate to the term World 5.0. I think it provides a fine yin to the yang that is Occupy.

Thanks for this, Jim!  Are you involved with World 5.0 yourself?  This meme is showing up in lots of different places, which is both encouraging and a bit of a concern.  How do we spread the word about the very real possibility of living as one human family without fragmenting our efforts around diverse initiatives that all seek the same thing under various organizational umbrellas?

"Happy Birthday Occupy Wall Street ... thoughts on Year One"

Fifteen years ago, I ran across a book, "100 Most Influential People in History," during one of my dalliances to my local Marin County bookstore. "Influential People" was one man's assessment on exactly that. But how he determined his rankings was the interesting part. They weren't always the reasons you would think. But after thinking about it, they made complete sense. For example:George Washington was ranked in the top 40 of all time. Understandable. But the reason why ... not so much. You…See More
