Little sketch here for your review and comments.

Every living organism has a biological imperative to sustain itself in its environment and to reproduce.  Organisms may survive through domination or symbiosis.  Either way, a critical point is reached in time.  In symbiosis, stasis may be reached and this may subject the organism to dangerous competition.  If dominance is the chosen method, then the organism will run out of resources and harm the host or environment.

Human beings have memetic imperatives in addition to genetic imperatives.  Human life cycles promote genetic reproduction-evolution and they act as hosts for memes, which are ideas that also promote evolutionary behavior.  Natural selection via generic advantage is far slower than memetic selection in culture.

At the current time, memetic competitive forces will determine whether or not the species dies out.  Stasis is not possible because humans have taken a dominance role in their environment.  The memetic content of human minds will not allow them to go backwards towards a more symbiotic relationship with ease.  The war of ideas or memes is being fought right now and ideas that win out will ultimately determine the fate of the species and possibly the eco-system.

The only thing that matters right now in terms of human evolution and survival is that every human who is aware of this battle consciously direct themselves towards the task of spreading memes which create symbiosis with the host organism and symbiotic lifestyles that shift away from dominance thinking.

There will be no return to the way of life we once had.  There will be no prolonging of the now obsolete paradigms.  All energy spent trying to coax more life out of dying systems is precious time and energy misdirected.  If too much energy is misdirected, the species will go extinct and possibly badly damage the host.

Those who are here as evolutionary catalysts and carriers of healthy memes must get to work today.  We must not be slowed down by misdirecting our energy towards saving what is or reforming what is obsolete.  We must create novel methodologies for long-term survival and evolution into the new age.

If the preceding were used as a standard, it would appear that the major movements of Occupy are misdirecting energy with current tactics.  Occupy must either move to incorporate creative maneuvers or be doomed to obsolescence in the very near term.

Occupy could create an alternative currency, it could become a boycotting operation that could actually take out corporations (destructive but strategically effective), it could convene forums like TED where maverick thinkers could be promoted, it could create its own media network, it could become a political platform and raise up candidates.  It could do many creative and effective things.

Currently Occupy is struck in the victim role and is feeding off of this energy.  You can see the result of a self-sustaining oppressor-victim relationship in the Israel-Palestine drama.  See how it continues endlessly with no conclusion.  That is because each party is incapable of stepping out of its own role.  Occupy may doom itself to this type of destructive cycle if it cannot shift into a “Liberation” movement.  It must offer solutions if it is to survive.  And it must start now.  I can hardly find anyone outside of the movement who is not critical of Occupy for these very reasons at this time.

"Happy Birthday Occupy Wall Street ... thoughts on Year One"

Fifteen years ago, I ran across a book, "100 Most Influential People in History," during one of my dalliances to my local Marin County bookstore. "Influential People" was one man's assessment on exactly that. But how he determined his rankings was the interesting part. They weren't always the reasons you would think. But after thinking about it, they made complete sense. For example:George Washington was ranked in the top 40 of all time. Understandable. But the reason why ... not so much. You…See More
