Event Description

On July 28 at 2pm EST, we will be hosting our second Global Conversation inspired by the work of Brené Brown.

Just as with Occupy Cafe, we feel that people are hungry for conversations that matter.  This Global Conversation is going to focus on the work of Dr. Brene Brown and her book, The Gifts of Imperfection.  AND you don't have to read the book to participate in this conversation on the power of vulnerability, compassion, courage, and empathy.

Brené Brown’s new TED Talk (March, 2012) has inspired us to host another Global Conversation. Her work continues to touch and change lives.

You can listen to this new TED Talk here

Here is the offer. Join Us:

  • In conversations with ordinary people from many parts of the world engaging on topics like whole-heartedness, courage, compassion, and connection.
  • In this virtual world, feeling as if we were sitting around our kitchen table, talking and enjoying each other’s company.

That’s what we are making possible – a global conversation with people everywhere who want to
learn, share, and reflect on the gift and the power of vulnerability.

To register for the July 28th conversation:  http://global-conversation2-heartwork.eventbrite.com/

We hope you are able to join us.

I'm excited to be able to have 2 amazing graphic recorders walking the virtual small groups to capture the essence of the small group conversations. Very fun!  You can learn more about Susanne Hoogwater here and Breah L. Parker here. Breah was the opening speaker for the first TEDxAsheville. Very fun. Love her talk.

"Happy Birthday Occupy Wall Street ... thoughts on Year One"

Fifteen years ago, I ran across a book, "100 Most Influential People in History," during one of my dalliances to my local Marin County bookstore. "Influential People" was one man's assessment on exactly that. But how he determined his rankings was the interesting part. They weren't always the reasons you would think. But after thinking about it, they made complete sense. For example:George Washington was ranked in the top 40 of all time. Understandable. But the reason why ... not so much. You…See More
