An open space for global conversation
So happy to see that this conversation is happening in this space. The question you are asking is at the heart of our project Organization Unbound, which focuses on how to do this at a collective level- in organizations and movements with a social purpose.
Here's a brief overview of the project.
And here's the conversation we've recently started on revolutionary movements in particular.
Looking forward to being in conversation with you as well!
Hello and thanks, Tana. I've begun to acquaint myself with OU. Are you all in face-to-face relationships?
Hi David, The project itself is global, but sprung out of many face-to-face relationships in Canada (mostly in Montreal) and in the U.S.. We've spent the last year and a half traveling (Zimbabwe and then India) and recently settled in Cape Town, South Africa and so are beginning to engage with folks here. And we're in the process of creating a self-guided curriculum for social purpose organizations to go through on their own so that they can begin a conversation and then launch into experiments on the ground together. We're excited to see where it goes!
Just saw your comment here. I love the sound of your project. Will connect further when I get a bit of free attention.
Thanks Jitendra! Check out my response to David above. I've been wanting to participate in one of the Occupy Cafe calls but the timing hasn't worked out so far with the time difference between the U.S. and South Africa. Looking forward to connecting soon though.
