A Vision OF Occupy 2 Carrying Signs With Verified Facts

I had a vision of thousands and thousands marching to a gathering place in silence  ( for the medtiation Gail envisions) each man woman and child carrying a sign that is a verifiable stat that describes the actual face of income disparity.

unemployment rate for blacks

number of children in chronic hunger

number of familes living in sub standard housing

number of families who have lost their home to foreclosure

avergae student loan debt

numer of families with homes in foreclosure now

change in real welalth for 1% vs 99% ( big charts + big numbers)

increased demand on soup kitchens and food pantries

increased demand for homeless shelters

$ value of subsidies to oil companies

$ value of cuts to education

stats on  water scarcity

a walking sea of humanity telling the story of income disparity.

And that everywhere they went to march and gather they carried their signs so that the signs, the facts the stat were befor ethe public all the time.  They would carry their signs as placards around their necks, in their windshiled, on shopping carts in supermarkets, sitting a soup kitchen bringing those stats where people are.

"Influential People" was one man's assessment on exactly that. But how he determined his rankings was the interesting part. They weren't always the reasons you would think. But after thinking about it, they made complete sense. For example:George Washington was ranked in the top 40 of all time. Understandable. But the reason why ... not so much. You…See More
