OCCUPY BROOKFIELD:Mayor's Girl Friend on The Board of Brookfield

OWS had an OCCUPY Brookfield Properties rally yesterday, I gather in the winter garden at the Financial Center.  Both the atrium and Zuccoti Park are owned by Brookfield Properties whose board Mayor Bloombergs long time girfreind, Diana Taylor sits on.  She gets paid $109,000 to attend 8 meetings a year and......dare we imagine..exert influence with the Mayor.   Brookfield currently owes the City $139,000 in back taxes.

A huge police force met the 100 or so Occupy Brookfild demonstrators. If they had been better armed with information and had more focused goals they might have used this widely known information to really connect the dots for the American people on how it all works and take better advantage of a moment that might help New Yorkers unite to dump Bloomberg and bring some integrity to the City's relationship with Brookfield and the Occupiers

It was a perfect opportunity for some clever attention getting Occupy clever signs pointing at Bloomberg, pointing at Diane Taylor, pointing at Bloombergs excessive use of force with occupiers, pointig at agressive acion on delinquent taxes of ordinary people and outting an army of public security at Brookfields disposal on a call from his para amour Diana.

Here is a photo and further infrmation of the Occupy Broohfield at the Wolrd Financial Center's Winter Garden,

http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/12/12/brookfield-deals-with-...

The winter garden atrium, one of the most beautiful of the city's zoning bonus public spaces has pricey high end shops on the balcony and lots of affordable  take out eateries for working folk ( clerks, secretaries eetc..) with public rables and chairs for takeout or bron baggers.  It also has sveral very pricey and chic eateries for the 1%.  At the top of the big escalator ( as I recall) is the entrance to American Express headquarters.  Super glizy and super gorgeous..right on the river.  A nice photo at the link above.

At the 60 wall st atrium about 8 bocks away ( not a Brookfiled property to my knowledge) , but also a zoing bonus public space wjere brown baggers can eat or play chess OWS has been hokding its organizational meetings and is now forbidden from using any signs at all..not even a small piece of paper to announce what is taking place at each table.  how about helium baloons with messages written on in magic marker???!!!  So far owner Deutche bank, a really key player in the whole derivatives mess has nort made any move to evict but I am sure they are fearing having their own space used to "out them" .  How about tons of helium baloons puting Deutche Bank.  or very body wearing tee shirst hand letterd in permamnet marler with facts outing Deuche bank.  T shirts aren't sign are they>?

"Happy Birthday Occupy Wall Street ... thoughts on Year One"

Fifteen years ago, I ran across a book, "100 Most Influential People in History," during one of my dalliances to my local Marin County bookstore. "Influential People" was one man's assessment on exactly that. But how he determined his rankings was the interesting part. They weren't always the reasons you would think. But after thinking about it, they made complete sense. For example:George Washington was ranked in the top 40 of all time. Understandable. But the reason why ... not so much. You…See More
