Plans for Portland here.

Occupy Portland’s Action Committee has issued a call for decentralized-yet-coordinated nonviolent civil disobedience against big banks.  Let’s shut them down!

We also invite everyone to join the public march on the morning of Thursday November 17th in support of civil disobedience. No one attending the march need risk arrest!

Here's the general N17 declaration adopted by many GAs:

N17 GLOBAL CALL TO ACTION

On November 17th, Join the 99%
Resist austerity. Reclaim the economy. Recreate our democracy.

Occupy Wall Street, in solidarity with organized labor and the 99% around the world, will mobilize for a day of peaceful direct action to reject the economy that divides us and rebuild an economy that works for all. We will resist the banks and the government they control, reclaim our democracy, and recreate the society we want to see.

We call upon the 99% to join us in fighting austerity in the US and around the world.

Resist the 1% economy that drowns us in debt, forecloses on our homes, profits from war, eliminates our jobs and closes our schools and hospitals.

Reclaim the economy for the 99%. Everyone deserves the opportunity to find honest work, live with dignity, and pursue a better future.

Recreate our democracy. We will start to create a society that is organized to meet human needs, not maximize corporate profit.

On November 17th, the 99% will reclaim our destiny from the 1% and fight back against their plans for austerity.

Join us.

In Boston, "At 4 pm, tens of thousands of people who are deeply engaged in the labor movement will join us in Dewey Square, march to our bridges, and demand that we get back to work."

I'm far from impressed with the choice.  Ditto for the call to action.

NYPD Arrest retired Philly Police Captain Raymond Lewis

The arrest itself

Holds two signs:

NYPD: Watch Inside Job. Then Join Us.

NYPD: Don't be Wall Street Mercenaries.

In livestream interview says that we need "get rid of corporate America....you have to make them impotent..." and that he'll be back at OWS once he's released after being arrested. For the police, he's their "worst enemy."

The Oregonian, 1:45 p.m. Eastern: Sign on front door of downtown branch of Chase bank: "Due to Occupy Portland, the building has been locked down until further notice."

And also this: A guy dressed for carnival, white pancake makeup, a white long sleeve shirt, red and white checkered pants, is rolling a stereo with big speakers playing dance music.  Everyone is dancing on the sidewalk in front of Standard Insurance Center.  It’s turning into a dancing street party in the rain.

Earlier today, ostensibly the first tents in the nation were set up in front of a Federal Building.  This is an attempt to interview both local police and Department of Homeland Security for their perspective on this new development.

Good energy in downtown Santa Barbara, maybe 100 people, chanting, carrying signs, saying hi to friends, co-creatively networking all the emerging new concepts and layers and levels of this movement, then marching up State Street chanting, to the tune of cars hoking their horns. Growing energy, seeing new faces at every event, as this revolution and people's pushback expands...
