2012 -- The end of the world as we know it?

Over the last 20 years I have heard a lot of talk, seen documentaries and Youtube videos on the topic of the Mayan Doomsday date of December 21, 2012. Although many of the theories that people have may sound possible, I believe we will all be waking up in our beds on December 22, 2012, that is if we don't die of natural causes, accidents or violent crime first.

I do believe, however, that 2012 may be the year that we may see the end of the world as we know it. Due to present…

CALL JOHN BOEHNER'S OFFICE (202) 225-0600

Call Speaker of the House John Boehner and tell him to pass the Payroll Tax Cut Extension, or Prepare to lose $40 a week out of your paycheck. His number is: Boehner's Phone: (202) 225-0600. I tested the number and it is to his office. Tell him and his crony Tea Partier's to get it done NOW! $40 is my weekly gas money. Tell them to stop being jerks and help the American people.

THIS COUNTRY NEEDS AN ENEMA!

Something to think about. 125+ Million People in America are poor or in Poverty according to the US Census Bureau.

On the same day this report came out, it was reported that Third World countries that produce the cotton for Victoria Secret's Underwear use child labor. Victoria Secret and other corporations use third world countries to produce our goods because they say it cost too much for the thongs…

A MESSAGE TO MY RIGHT-WING CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN FRIENDS

The immortal words of Jesus says "Judge not ... and ye shall not be judge by your own measures." When I see this scripture I believe that he is speaking about judging the condition of a person's soul; judging on a spiritual level. If I point at a man and say, that man is going to hell because he's a thief, an adulterer, etc. then I am guilty of judging.

However If I see a man running out of a bank with a mask on carrying a bag of loot while the alarms are going off, I can call that…

TESTING THE WATERS

Recently I submitted my blog on class bigotry to my local newspaper office as a letter to the editor. It may go into publication.

I am testing the waters in my community to do either one of two things, start an Occupy Movement group and/or make a run for the city council in the next election.

The small town I live in has a population of less than 10,000 and most are poor or in poverty. There is a growing problem in the community of what I call "Class Bigotry" where the poor is…

CLASS BIGOTRY ... THE NEW OBJECTS OF DISCRIMINATION!

I just posted this on my personal Facebook page this morning ...

Even though I support the efforts of the Occupy Movement, I strongly believe that the biggest way we can change our nation and the world is by learning to care for each other. The argument I hear many people say about those who visit food pantries or seek other aid is that they are playing the system and want something for nothing. Although you may have a few that do that, the majority of people are just struggling and…

A GREAT IDEA: EVICT A BANKER DAY :-)

I have a great idea. I wish we could have an evict a banker day where we could force bankers to live in a dark back alley for a day or two in the cold, just so they could get a feel of what it's like to be homeless. Make sure they don't have any money or credit/debit cards on them first. Give them some old newspaper for insulation and tell them they have to dumpster dive for their dinner. Make sure the alley is in a high crime and poverty area so they would know what it's like to be alone…

THE GOP IS AT IT AGAIN – PLAYING THE GOOD CHRISTIAN CARD TO WIN VOTES

Hello. If you are reading this now then you are part of the resistance.

Recently, Rick Perry stated in a television commercial that it is not fair that gays have the right to serve openly in the military while children are not allowed to have prayer or Bible studies in public schools.

FACT: Neither President Obama nor the Congress had a hand in allowing gays to serve openly in the military. This was a decision made during a Supreme Court Case earlier this…

MEDICAL INDUSTRY AND DEBT COLLECTION AGENCIES SHOULD BE NEXT TARGETS FOR OCCUPATION MOVEMENT

Hello. If you are reading this right now then you are part of the resistance.

I really love reading and hearing about Occupy’s newest plans to occupy foreclosed properties. The foreclosure crisis that hit America in recent years was created by banks’ predatory lending practices. Now the time has come to make them pay. Although I consider this an excellent enterprise for the Occupy Movement to go after banks and Wall Street, there is an even bigger enemy that is largely being ignored…

ALWAYS REPLACE YOUR HARD DRIVE EVERY TWO YEARS!!!

If you are reading this message you are part of the resistance.

My computer is 100% up to power now after my 3-year-old hard drive went kaput. I'm back up using a smaller spare drive that I had stored away. Yesterday morning I worked on my system at 3:00 a.m. and had it back up before 4:30 a.m. The rest of the day after work was spent on fine tuning. I will be using this computer sparingly until I get a bigger drive at Best Buy this weekend, meaning no graphics programs.

Before…

THE FUTURE OF NEWS MEDIA

More and more it has come to my attention that independent media such as newspapers and television is dying. At this present time I work for one of the few remaining independent newspapers in America that has not been bought by one of the corporate chains. This greatly saddens me.

Years ago, journalist were people who worked outside the fringes of society who chronicled stories and events and…

WARNING BEING INVOLVED IN THE OCCUPY MOVEMENT CAN GET YOU "UNFRIENDED" ON FACEBOOK

I know that my blog heading will attract a lot of attention out there and it should. If you read this you will not only learn what just happened to me, but you may receive some good encouragement if this should ever happen to you.

Yesterday, I have done a survey on my Facebook page and discovered that three individuals (two of them were family members) had "unfriended" me from their Facebook pages. This does not surprise me because all three of them were devoted right-wingers who have…

Myths about the Occupy Movement

This is my very first blog ever, so bear with me.

MYTH 1: THE OCCUPY MOVEMENT IS A GROUP OF PEOPLE WHO WANT SOMETHING FOR NOTHING.

FACT: The majority of people who I have seen and heard do not want a hand out but a hand-up. The truth is that the 1% receive millions more in welfare than a single mother who receives a state welfare check. This is called corporate welfare and is suppose to help stimulate the economy and create jobs. It…

"Happy Birthday Occupy Wall Street ... thoughts on Year One"

Fifteen years ago, I ran across a book, "100 Most Influential People in History," during one of my dalliances to my local Marin County bookstore. "Influential People" was one man's assessment on exactly that. But how he determined his rankings was the interesting part. They weren't always the reasons you would think. But after thinking about it, they made complete sense. For example:George Washington was ranked in the top 40 of all time. Understandable. But the reason why ... not so much. You…See More
